Hi there,

I'm running Office 2007 Home and Office, and Vista Home Premium.

When I open a file from Office Live (on the web), edit in excel, and hit ctrl-s, it works fine.

If I try to use the "Open/Save to Office Live" buttons within excel it takes me to my local documents.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have had the same problems and have stopped using Office Live until this is resolved. Clearly there is a problem. I contacted Microsoft support but they did not really help.

The list moderators offered to pass on the message to support, which was appreciated, but I never heard back. Hopefully they will fix this problem.

I have been having the same issue for about 2 weeks.  If I am in the file for only a few minutes it is fine but If I spend any longer than 5 minutes in the file it doesn't let me save.  This is horrible as after excel/workspace crashes it doesn't have a recovery file.  This is horrible!

i have the same problem ... when i click save to Office live on the saving dialog, saving dialog open again without saved dokument... word is saving dokument well but excel cant work ... repair it pleeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaassssssssssssseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Hi, I'm Julie and I'm one of the French-language moderators for Microsoft Office Live Workspace. I've got a user with a similar issue:

Office 2007 w/ Outlook

Microsoft Office Live Update 1.3

XP SP3 / Vista

Problems began when installing the 1.3 update, and this affects the files he has access to but does not own, it's only when he's an Observer or Editor for the file.

I'll send him to support as well, but I wanted to chime in with some potentially useful information.

Edit: I'm not sure how relevent it is, but if he logs into one of his own workspaces as an editor (not the owner), he can load files using the Recent Files option and can save them using the Save As... option.

my problem is when i willl save excel document trought menu "save to office live" without opening new document from worspace ...
excel office live update doesnt working with this

 I have the exact same problem. This happens in Excel (Word works fine)

1- I open a document from my computer.

2- I go to "Save to Office Live" and click on login.

3- I either have to key in login info, but sometimes it recognizes my previous login.

4- I navigate into Documents (it does not save to root).

5- I say save, the save dialog screen closes.

6- It does not give me a progress bar of online saving as it does in Word. In a few second, save dialog box opens again.

It is always the same, I haven't had any other experience.

Any suggestions?

I see that I am not the only one. I suspect that the problem involves a registry key that has been assigned an incorrect value. Unfortunately, my knowledge is insufficient to probe for the problem myself.
