Before you begin

1. Login to Microsoft Office Live Workspace
2. Click on the "Event Workspace" on the left pane, to view the following documents:
• Directions
• Event Agenda
• Party Invitation
• Busy Event Flyer
• Notes
• List of Invitees
• To do List
3. Click on the List of Invitees document

Scenario

List of Invitees document contains just one list page, so "Export to Excel" is just going to export the records in Microsoft Excel Workbook as a single Worksheet. This not necessary. The reason being that since it is one list, this could be exported as a .CSV file.

However, if the "List of Invitees" document  supports "list tabs" - Internet Explorer Tabs -  within the "List of Invitees document" then Exporting it to Excel makes sense, as there are more Worksheets to accommodated within Microsoft Excel Workbook for multiple data in the "List of Invitees document" page.

Suggestion

Support for multiple list tabs with list pages are required in Office Live Workspace. For example, In the Grocery List, the user can have monthly or Quaterly grocery list tab in the Grocery list page itself. This will enable the user to take advantage of the following:

• Named definition
• Object linking and embedding (OLE)
• Analyse data
• Create charts for visualization
• Relative and Absolute references
• Subtotal functions

Question

Why List tabs are not provided in the List pages. Exporting to Excel should support exporting multiple list tab data to Excel.

Note Remove "Export to Excel" icon and provide "Export" icon list with the following items;

• Export as .CSV for single list page
• Export to Excel with mulitple list tab pages.
