Add-in Office Live won't work (Office 2007)?

Ok, I have tried to install the office live plug-in two times already including the update patch and still I can't get it to work on my Vista machine running office 2007.

At first I thought it may be the plug-in but I found another plug-in from officelabs (search ribbon) andn tried to install that and that also doesn't work.

At this point, I'm at a lost here. I can't seem to get it to work and when I check the Add-ins word/excel/etc. options, there isn't anything there. I tried adding it manually and that doesn't work as well. It won't show up as an installed plug-in. However, the application is "installed" because if I run the setup files, it will ask me to repair or remove.

Anyone can help please!

May be there is some problem with your Office 2007 installation? Can you repair or reinstall Office 2007 and check whether the plugins work?

Thanks

Not to worry nutsnbolts! I am having the same problem as well. The add-in doesn't appear in Office 2007. I'm running on Windows Vista.

I installed the add-in on my Windows XP machine, running Office 2003, and it works well.

In Office 2007 the add-in doesn't show up as a new toolbar like it does in earlier versions of Office. Instead, it shows up as two new menu items under the "Microsoft Office" button (the File menu).

You can see more details here:

 http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/officelive/FX102382801033.aspx

If it's not even showing up there, please let us know and we'll see if something else could be wrong.

Thanks for taking the time to report the issue.

Re: Add-in Office Live won't work (Office 2007)?

Thanks for your reply. I have already read the link that you have posted. I followed the the guide under the 'Troubleshoot' (for Office 2007) section and it still doesn't work. I don't see 'Microsoft Office Live Add-in beta' in the 'Disabled Items' dialog box.

I could take chakkaradeep's advice and try to repair Office 2007 and see whether that will help or not.

Same here. I haven't tried the repair but I'm pretty sure I have tried it. Have you tried it and did that work?

Re: Add-in Office Live won't work (Office 2007)?

I have solved this problem by reinstalling Office. Indeed I found that I had a double Office installation on my pc. The first one was a trial version that was already there when I bought the PC, and the secod one is the one I bought and that I thought had overwritten the old one. It was not so, after de-installing Office, the old version was still running. Now I have reisnstalled the genuine version alone and it works. I suspect it had something to do with this double installation or simply with the trial version.
