connecting to Outlook

Task 'SharePoint' reported error (0x8000FFFF) : 'An error occurred either in Outlook or SharePoint. Contact the SharePoint site administrator.  HTTP 501.'

It is not downloading the data into outlook.  this is the error msg.  it did create the task space in outlook (appears on the menu bar in the task window), but there are no tasks even though I did create a task in the workspace "new task list" list.

Any idea on the fix it?

Jeanne

Re: connecting to Outlook

Can you please try the following -

1.  Go to - Start ---> Control Panel --> Stored username & passwords & delete the username you are using to sign in to OLW, if it is there in the list.
2. Try to clear IE cache & cookie.
3. Delete the to-do list (if it is already exisits) from outlook.

then try to sync again. Let me know if this worked for you.

Re: connecting to Outlook

Shilpa Gupta,

Thank you for this assistance, however, from Control Panel I do not have a “stored User Name and password” except in User Accounts.  Is there more of a path to get to these user names and passwords?

 Looking forward to your reply,

Jeanne

Re: connecting to Outlook

On Vista - go to
Control Panel -- > user accounts --> Manage User accounts --> click on Advance tab --> click on Manage Passwords.

If it still doesn't work, Please let me know which OS & office version you are using.
