Preparing for the New Semester

I used Office Live for the first time this past spring. I had about 75 students sharing documents and workspaces with me. How do I eliminate the residual shared documents/workspaces from my account so I can start fresh for the fall? The student documents have been downloaded so I don't need their work any longer.

Re: Preparing for the New Semester

The way to do this is to click on the "Shared With Me" tab (on the left side). After you do this you will see a list of all the shared workspace you belong to. You can then choose to either hide it or delete it altogether.

Let me know if this worked for you and good luck on your studies!

CLW,

The advice Roni gave you is good and make sure to follow the instructions in the “My Workspaces” section rather than the “Shared With Me” section, unless of course you had each of the students create their own account then share them with you, which I would not suggest in the scenario you described. And for the documents you mentioned, follow again the same instructions Roni gave you after clicking on the “documents” under this same section, which by now you have probably figured out.

For Future reference, and in case during the year your workspaces get a bit congested, you may consider the following go-around that I mentioned in the post “Re: Creating folder structure”.

On a side note, I would love to hear your story of how you are using Office Live with your 75 students in the Tell Your Story forum.  If you get a chance, please share your experience with us.

Re: Preparing for the New Semester

I wanted my students to have a place to store their assignments in the cloud so, yes, I did have them all create Office Live Workspace Accounts. Then I had them submit some assignments as shared documents so I could comment on them, but I soon saw the error in that approach. Eventually, we got to sharing documents within their shared workspaces. The best thing for the students turned out to be the remote storage with wherever access. Grading documents online is too slow, though. Will still have to kill trees.

I'll try linking duplicate workspaces, but I'd also be interested in knowing why the students don't need their own account. By the way, I did follow Roni's suggestion for deleting the 200 or so shared documents and workspaces in the Shared with Me section.

Thanks for the suggestions.
