I've been trying to save attachments from outlook to a live office workspace.

I manage to connect ok and it goes through saving all the attachments, When I then look at the workspace there's nothing there.

If I try to save again from outlook it says that the files already exist. Where it thinks they are is a mystery to me. They are nowhere on the workspace or on my computer.

Has anyone successfully saved attachments or had a similar problem? Grateful for any help of pointers.

Can you elaborate on what steps you took to save to Office Live workspace from within Outlook?  Did you select a specific workspace to save to?  

I'd also like to suggest our Multi File Upload tool.  If you save your attachments locally, then you can upload them using the "Add Documents" toolbar option within Office Live Workspace.
